Memphis, TN – the River Inn, Flight & Largest Bass Pro Shop

First landmark you see driving into Memphis

We begin yet another journey real close to Little Rock, AR which is the birthplace of Rock & Roll Memphis, TN. We drove the 2 hour drive and was a pleasant thoroughfare experience.

Though I hate rock, and I don’t give a shit about going to Elvis mansion. However one day I would like to check it out but it’s in the ghetto now and do not want to get shot. Come aboard this photographic journey of our hotel check in and to a top rated restaurant in Memphis, Flight. Also we end out the night at the largest Bass Pro shop!

Lobby at the River Inn of Harbor Town

The River Inn of Harbor Town

A quiet almost romantic bed & breakfast located near downtown Memphis, TN. It’s quite the pricey place however the amenities are percent decent and the bed was comfortable. Is it worth $230/night? No. We were given a handicap room which had all the extra space¬† and odd shaped angles. It’s the small things that will help this hotel out, like the light switches were 98 cent crap ones from wal-mart I’ve seen them. It wasn’t a bad hotel, close to their little restaurant and close to a grocery store. Also easy to get around town from this location given a rental vehicle. However I’d stay here again if their was snow outside, otherwise I think a Hyatt would be the same effect at half the cost.

Large room, super comfortable bed, vintage feel at Harbor Inn.

Dinner at Flight

So I used Yelp and TripAdvisor to find the best restaurant in Memphis and turned out to be this cool spot called Flight. It’s basically a spot that has multiple of everything, like you order wine you get 3 different types. Food, Dessert, Apps, etc. Awesome if you love sampling everything! However for gluten free people on the app they just doubled down on one since they didn’t accommodate 3 different items, whack Flight, whack! However was pretty decent. I’d go back. Check it out below.

Flight Menu (they don’t have a gluten free menu) Have to ask.

Our wine flight, white & red. It’s a fun experience in Memphis

My gluten free App Flight (Watermelon Salad+Mexican Soup Something)

My deliciousness, lamb, bison, and I forgot the other. So good.

This was the ladies flight (not gluten free) Check menu for ref.

Largest Bass Pro Shop in America

Also a cool one at that, we were originally going to stay here since it’s also a hotel then I realized who am I? Going to Memphis I kind of wanted a chill spot away from all the action not a busy tourist spot! Why I chose the River Inn over this place, it was cool and def wouldn’t mind staying here. However the restaurant, etc is way over priced. We did have a few cocktails at the bar before looking out the top of the pyramid.

Driving in, reminds me of the Luxor in Las Vegas

All hail Bass Pro Shop lol.

Looks like a normal Bass Pro Shop so far.

Then you walk in and it looks like a swamp with slight Erie feel!

Pay $10 to go to the top!

Inside one of the restaurants on the lower level.

Swamp Land!

Some ducks were chilling, and some bass!

Looking outside the Pyramid restaurant.

Looking out fron the top, beautiful views of Memphis.

To the west side of the Pyramid, city life.

Nighttime Bass Pro Shop Alien Pyramid!

That wraps up day 1 of Memphis, TN trip, check back tomorrow for another Zoo visit, and by far one of the top 3 zoo’s I’ve ever been too, the Memphis Zoo!
