So not much went on in February and Early March except a bunch of work stuff so I only had a few updates for March and April until our trip to Disney coming up in May, that’ll be a bunch of fun. So I’ll keep it simple. March is always a busy month with work, but personal life it’s always chill and a lot of resting and probably a massage. March Madness eh!

An epic winter time cocktail with lime, apple, cinnamon, rum! yum.
So making the rounds since moving to LR to all the fine dining establishments I think I’ve finally found one I’ve said “I’d come back here next week”. I kept avoiding it because the reviews about over priced, blah blah blah. However this place is on par with some Texas steak houses that rival the beef quality of So’s Filet.
If your in the area, you must try SO. They need a better name though!
Ordered multiple cocktails, Winters Mule, Green Tea, Strawberry Martini all were poured perfectly and had a great ratio. Even though the green tea drink is meant to be a shooter it was still good. Winters Mule is my recommendation to try while it lasts, great balance of flavors. The filet Mignon came out perfect medium rare and the mash potatoes were bone marrow infused and cut with the filet was an amazing pairing choice.
For dessert we got the Cardamon Creme Brulee, sort of small but super appetizing and had an aperitif that leaves your palet feeling like your full and you want nothing else. The Chocolate Sack we got to go and they made it gluten free with the cake/crumbles on the side. Even packed the to-go box with ice to keep it safe from melting. Check this place out if your in the area, so damn good.
So we had a great Christmas, many presents were opened and many travel plans were accomplished. After Canada it was time to get back to the real life and start enjoying some home time and getting things done. One of those things was making home made gluten free fish and chips. I will link the recipe at the end. I also haven’t had any fish and chips since Disney World at Raglan Road where they’re gluten free so I was pumped. It ended up being excellent! The one thing I will do different next time is make my own tartar sauce, the store bought kind sucks.

So been catching up with work and what not so will be making a post that entails my October. Didn’t go on any trips but I did try some sushi, make tacos for Taco Tuesday and got a cool lego set.
Who doesn’t love to start October off with some Sushi? Haha, however this place right by our house is excellent and always fresh. Tried this new Egg Roll Ameebi or something and was pretty tasty.
Also started Taco Tuesday, who doesn’t love a Taco on a Tuesday? Also below is a place called Gandolphos deli, a NYC style deli. Had good pastrami, no gluten free bread however.
Got this sweet limited edition Batman movie lego set with different figurines. It’s themed with the lego figures dressed up as batman but like a easter batman! to cool.

Really wanted to try this place the last few times I’ve been in Vegas. While I note 3 stars for having gluten free fried chicken, the chicken itself was horrible. Dry, way to spicy, and had no real crunch. I’ve made better gluten free chicken at home cheaper than $30.
The service was great at first then quickly lead to a downhill battle of when would he get the check, etc back and forth. This is another typical “dress up the inside real nice” and attract the tourists spot, at least in my opinion or experience when I went.
They also take 30+ extra minutes for the gluten free chicken which was the reason I went. However next time I’ll find a better spot. A+ for effort though, I appreciate any restaurant giving gluten free patrons a substitute.

So part 2 of our Las Vegas journey starts with the end cap of night 3 which was going to the Peppermill at 2 in the morning. Now who does this? Well when you TripAdvisor or YELP anything food 24 hour in Vegas the Peppermill is #1.
It’s historic and legendary amongst Vegas locals. The exterior was a sight to be hold and the inside was even better. Be sure to check it out next time your in Las Vegas, it’s off the strip but worth it.

Trees, booths, lights, sights and sounds of the Vegas nightlife crowd. After a long day of hanging out, walking, shows, the Peppermill was a comfort to say the least. The food was the best part, now you must get steak and eggs, DOH! It was simply the best.

First landmark you see driving into Memphis
We begin yet another journey real close to Little Rock, AR which is the birthplace of Rock & Roll Memphis, TN. We drove the 2 hour drive and was a pleasant thoroughfare experience.
Though I hate rock, and I don’t give a shit about going to Elvis mansion. However one day I would like to check it out but it’s in the ghetto now and do not want to get shot. Come aboard this photographic journey of our hotel check in and to a top rated restaurant in Memphis, Flight. Also we end out the night at the largest Bass Pro shop!

So Silver Dollar city is:Silver Dollar City is a theme park in the US state of Missouri. Opened on May 1, 1960. The park is an 1880s-themed experience that fits Branson’s vision as a family-friendly vacation destination with down-home charm. Silver Dollar City’s operating season runs from mid-March until late December, with the park closed during the months of January and February.
So now you know, I read about this which is why another reason to come visit Branson, and we went when it was hot, I can only imagine what it’s going to be like in the colder months to go back and check it out. Before the park we stopped at a Craft mall right near our hotel which turned out to be a bunch of old people shit and sewn together homemade junk crap. Like Hobby Lobby type crap, but they had a grill in the back so we grubbed lunch.

So it was a cool week in Minnesota I have to say, saw some things I haven’t seen and experienced a new culture around Mall of America’s atmosphere. However Mall of America was shit and wasn’t as cool as I thought it would be. The upside was the Zoo & Como Park which made the trip worth it and hanging out with family. If your looking for a vacation and Mall of America is on your list I’d say skip it and go to Galleria in Houston or Dallas, much better mall and A LOT more things to do. Forgot how good Texas has it sometimes. The weather is the only upside of doing things in Minnesota since I love the cold.

Had great reviews, however Lowbrow was a hipster shithole.
Used my trusty yElp app to find the best gluten-free friendly restaurants around. I stumbled upon the Lowbrow as a high rated establishment with brunch, beer, and a wide variety of menu items to chose from. The service itself and a few food items were the reason for 3 stars. Of course they were pretty busy, there seemed like there was no AC. The table didn’t have napkins, had to ask for them. Our waitress seemed like she was having a rough day and kind of treated us like peasants.
It took about 25-30 minutes for our order to come out. Our drinks also remained half empty half the time and no one to refill, or ask to refill. We ordered some deviled eggs appetizer and a Elvis sandwich (gluten-free). Now be warned the gluten free bun is complete garbage (points for having a gf bun). However it falls apart before you can even pick it up. It’s one of the worst gluten-free buns I’ve ever experienced and I’ve tried over 10 different brands. I also got the egg sandwich with sausage, bacon, tomato, and some mayo I believe which was tasty and pretty good but nothing impressive. Our hash browns for both of our orders were completely raw underneath like they forgot to cook them on both sides. After waiting 30 minutes was not about to ask this waitress for new ones. If I lived in the area I’d probably come back, it wasn’t that bad.
Flying Out: Quick layover at STL Airport which is also a shithole. Better then Lowbrow I’m sure of it, however they do have a frozen custard machine which is awesome.
