My Tech

What kind of equipment do I use to shoot photos/videos/snapchats? Also what kind of PC do I do all my work on? Well I’ll be posting here the equipment I personally use and have used in the past.

My main camera, the Canon 70D:

Excellent for Video + Upgrades

Recently upgraded to this bad boy and I’m loving it. I mainly got it for video shooting because I’m still learning proper photography but I’ve came a long way. Also upgraded to a Sigma 17-70 lens for a better walk around than the kit lens.

My Second Camera, the Nikon D5000:

Nikon D5000

Great DSLR for beginners or travelers.

I mainly shoot with the Nikon D5000 for trips that I stay more than a few nights. Most of my photos on this site are all shot with the Nikon D5000 which I’ve had for about 6 years and I still love, it’s a great easy to use DSLR but I’m looking at upgrading so I can shoot better video with my camera as well. The video on the D5000 is lacking a lot.

  • 12.3-megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor
  • Outfitted with the 3x AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens with image stabilization

Price: $799 but if you check ebay you can pick one up for around 400-500.

I upgraded to the Note 5 awhile back, below is my back up back up, ha.

My Backup Camera, the Galaxy Note 4:

Can’t go wrong with interchangeable batteries.

Now it’s not ideal for great shots but this camera does pack a lot and makes anything look good and is a great alternative for me. When I’m just flying somewhere shortly or traveling for the day and don’t want to lug a lot around it works perfectly. The video, photo quality are all great on this camera and the #1 reason I have not upgraded to the Note 5 is because of interchangeable batteries. I absolutely loving being able to swap out my batteries on the fly and be back at 100% without having to find an outlet or carry a battery pack around. Hopefully they re introduce this feature in the Note 6.
